Pet Health & Medical Policies

At Premier, the health and safety of your pet is our top priority. To ensure the best possible care, we are unable to accept pets with certain medical conditions or those requiring specific medications. We strongly recommend seeking care from a veterinary boarding facility or specialized in-home care for pets with these needs. Please note that these conditions are subject to change; we encourage you to contact us directly to confirm any concerns.

The following conditions may affect a pet's eligibility for boarding:

  • Pets with open wounds, stitches, or staples, particularly those requiring ongoing treatment such as cleaning, rebandaging, or medication administration.
  • Pets recovering from recent surgeries that necessitate continuous veterinary care.
  • Pets unable to stand, walk, or eat independently.
  • Pets requiring injectable medications, including diabetic pets needing insulin.
  • Pets with medical conditions requiring overnight observation.
  • Pets with cardiovascular diseases, including congestive heart failure, Grade II or higher heart murmurs, arrhythmias, or congenital heart disease.
  • Pets experiencing chronic constipation.
  • Pets with chronic bronchitis or respiratory issues.
  • Pets exhibiting symptoms or signs of respiratory diesease, including coughing.
  • Pets with seizure disorders that have had seizures in the past 6 months or are not on maintenance medication.
  • Pets with acute or chronic renal failure.
  • Pets with health conditions that may worsen due to stress, such as cancer or autoimmune diseases.
